Mospino Repair and Engineering Works (Mospinsky RMZ) was founded in July 1946 on the basis of mechanical workshops of Mospino briquette plant. The purpose of the works foundation was to solve the problems of reconstructing and developing preparation companies and briquette plants in Donetsk region.

At that period after the end of the Second World War it was necessary to create a strong specialized base that would be capable of ensuring growing demands of coal processing companies – the demands for spare parts, metalwork and non-standardized equipment.

At the earliest stage of the company’s history the works comprised only three shops: a mechanical shop, a forging boiler shop and a foundry shop.

The mechanical shop had available poor machine tool population consisting of several turning lathes, planing machines, and drill units. Those machines had been assembled of spare parts by the plant’s workers manually; some of them were war trophies.

An arsenal of the forging boiler shop comprised an eccentric press for punching holes in chains straps, a vertical drill, trophy combined scissors, a “Vagner” plate-bending press, and a forge chimney. No blank production department was available. Most of the technological operations in blanking spare parts have been performed manually.

A foundry shop was a small dark room with a cupola furnace weighing half a metric ton. Output capacity of the foundry shop was just 10 metric tons of pig iron per month. No steel casting has been performed.

There was no transportation between shops of the plant, as well as no hoisting devices.

In 1958 the enterprise changed its name into Mospino Central Electromechanical Workshops of “DonetksUgleObogashenie” trust.

During the period of 1960-1965, after the project by “Dongiproshakht” institute, new buildings of the machine-assembly department, the foundry shop and the forging boiler shop were constructed. The shops were equipped with then modern industrial equipment. At the same time, residential area was built which made it possible to provide lodging for and thus to retain highly qualified employees.

Thus, by 1965 Mospino Central Electromechanical Workshops had turned from semi-artisan workshops into a strong special-purpose repair enterprise equipped with modern machinery.

As a result of implementation of more advanced metal-working machinery featuring high level of labor-intensive process mechanization, as well as putting into operation steel-smelting furnaces, cast hydrofining facility, and powerful forging mechanical equipment, by 1975 the Mospino Central Electromechanical Workshops had expanded into a major repair station of “DonetksUgleObogashenie” union. This status has been confirmed by changing the workshops’ name into Mospino Repair and Engineering Works.

The Repair and Engineering Works (RMZ) have collaborated and is still collaborating with over a dozen of research institutions and RD institutes.

Close innovative interaction with scientific organizations caused increased reliability and durability of coal-processing equipment which operates in conditions of considerable abrasive wear and corrosion impact. Manufacturing spare parts out of wear-proof pig iron ИЧХ14Г2Н resulted in 5-6 times (on the average) longer durability of impellers, scroll cases, guard disk rings.

Together with Institute “UkrNIIugleobogashenie” (city of Lugansk) RMZ has assimilated production of articles made of wear-resisting material – monolithic polycrystal silicon carbide (MPSC). MPSC lining for hydro cycles of grade ГЦМ-350, ГЦМ-630, ГТ-710, and ГЦМ-1000, for in-line parts and for gates of slurry self-sealing gate-valves resulted in 8-10 times longer equipment life time.

For the purpose of increasing labor productivity in a forging boiler shop we have introduced high capacity presses for stamping screen sieves and punched cards for dewatering elevators. To produce billets out of sheet metal we successfully use plasma arc cutting unit “Kiev-4”. In a batched production of spare parts for ГШО, numerically controlled machine tools are commonly used in the machine-assembly department.

In 1980’s and 90’s, stable level of production technology, reliability of our products allowed RMZ to supply its products to Turkey, Bulgaria, Iran and China.

Within the period of transition to market economy, in May 2001 form of the enterprise ownership was changed.

Currently Mospino Repair and Engineering Works (RMZ) is an organization department of LLC VostokUgleMash.

With due regard to growing market competition, the team of VostokUgleMash JV Mospino RMZ is consistent and purposeful in assimilating new types of products which are popular with consumers.

Thus, during the past 4 years the following kinds of products have been developed and put into mass production:

  • vacuum liquid-packed pump КВН-50/1,5;
  • suspension pump 8С-8М;
  • coal pumps 12У10-М and НУВ-450;
  • hammer crusher ДРП-2М;
  • scraper drum feeder СБП-350;
  • hydro screens ГГН-2,7 and ГГН-3,6;
  • sectors for vacuum-filters «Ukraina-80» and «Gornyak»;
  • slurry gate-valves ЗЧСМ (Ду-80; Ду-100; Ду-150;Ду-200; Ду-250) with a gate made of stainless steel and with lining of MPSC valve openings;
  • cylindrical screen ГЦЛ-3 with cast grid;
  • hydro cyclone ГЦМ-240.

Much work has been performed to develop and to output spare parts for sample conditioners МПЛ-150; МПЛ-150М and МПЛ-300 (fire bars, hammers, grids, plates, etc.).

We have also developed production of MPSC rings for horizontal settling centrifuges (SHC), production of elevators ЭО4-С, ЭО6-С, ЭО-10. We as well carry out overhaul of turboblowers.

We have developed output of leaf chain ЦП-70, as well as of momentary blow pneumatic valves for pneumatic collapse in bunkers and silos in coal-preparation plants and in by-product coke plants.

History of the plant is continued innews.
